Evolution
Well I just wrote my essay and I have to say that I just don't understand how people can see definite concrete evidence of evolution but some just still don't get it. Our country was formed around Christianity and I think that some just can't give it up...I believe in God or at least a higher power of some sort but I still believe in evolution...what's so hard about that?

I totally agree... I don't see whats so hard about holding on to your religious beliefs and expanding your mind and learning about different theories. Knowledge is power and I believe the more you know the better, and if everyone closed their minds off to new ways of learning and thinking and did not embarce new ideas, what kind of world would we live in? Just because you learn about something new or are informed of different ideas doesn't mean you have to let go of your old way of thinking you are just making your own little world bigger. Just because evolution is taught does not mean everyone has to believe it, you are learning that it is out there and has had a huge impact on science, science classes are not telling you this is fact and this is how it is you have to believe it. I think that everyone should be open to hearing new ideas and different ways of thinking....
i feel the same way, i believe in God and dinosaurs. a lot of my family lives in Texas and Louisiana and are strict southern baptists and dont reject the idea of evolution. i believe that all truths are self evident and dont need to be defended. when i see and outraged at the teaching of evolution i get to thinking that their faith must not be very strong. evolution and spirituality are not mutually exclusive.
Lakers?! you better be from LA man cus i dont want to hear it from somebody from the burbs.
Go Blazers Go hometown FANS !
No hard feelins man
PS Kobe has a baby meat
I believe creationism and evolution are not incompatible. I have strong Christian beliefs, and I don't think that the Bible tells me not to believe in evolution. The people who were trying to put creationism in the classroom have religious motivation. Science is science. Charles Darwin's ideas on the Origins of the Species have been overwhelmingly accepted in the scientific community. I do not think that there is such a big conflict between the Bible and evolution. God started evolution. It was His vehicle for shaping the earth! If people are so worried about evolution being taught in the classroom, what kind of faith do they have? Faith is something beyond description, beyond mere words or symbols here on earth... beyond religion. If one has faith in the Divine Power or God, a simple science curriculum on evolution should not be able to shake that.
it all comes down to beliefs and opinions...People are so stubborn and biggited that they dont want to respected anyone elses ideas ! there is nothing wrong with evolution or creationism there is just a time and place for both
